This shoot was a collaborative piece, her vision and my photography expertise. The goal of this shoot was to represent several different aspects of her within one shot. “I want this shoot to show who I am as a woman of modernity as well as a woman who loves and appreciates her culture” ~ Ayushi. With this information I searched for inspiration from Calvin Klein jeans ads, I wanted this shoot to be an homage to a brand that makes a point to go against norms and pushes the narrative of being care free. This was one of my most favorite shoots because I was presented with the opportunity learn from someone else culture and find a way to embody that culture within this shot. From the Bindi on her forehead to the jeans and tank top she was wearing, this is the embodiment of a woman who loves her culture and loves who she is.
